Very talented and knowledgeable speaker. Best antenatal video on UA-cam. I like that she treats us as smart enough to cope with the interesting level of detail.

This video series is so refreshing, even though it's nine years old. I love how how this was taught as a class and not as a kumbaya social circle. No offence to people that like that stuff, but I'm not interested in hearing hours about each participant's life story, pep talks, and personal opinions. Being educated and informed is what calms me down and this video series did it for me. Thank you Holliday Tyson.

First time mom here, so I cannot compare it with other courses. But it is obvious that she shares her valuable experience in the most useful way. It's all about the facts, only necassary information with informative anatomic and scientific details and as much possible. I am so glad to have found these training series. I feel already safer and calmer about my birth.

In Mexican culture- women in general - all social classes- follow what we call “cuarentena”. This is the 40 days and nights post-partum where your mother, MIL or other qualified woman in your family (usually a seasoned mother) moves in for that period to basically pamper the mom and teach basic baby care. They also pass on traditional knowledge to the mother such as diet for the mother, and beauty tips such as belly bounding for post partum recovery. I never appreciated how amazing this is until I hear about women not having post partum support and/or immediately have to return to work. I’m 34 weeks! And excited thank you for this video!

I watched this when I was pregnant with my first and it was so incredibly helpful. I remember thinking about some of the things I learned from these videos during my birth. It helped me so much mentally to know what stage of labour I was in. Now I'm pregnant with my second and watching again to prepare. Thank you for these videos!

Moms NEED to hold the baby the whole first HOUR after birth. This helps hormones release the placenta, get breastmilk stimulated, and keep mom from post pardum depression. THE GOLDEN HOUR is real and important and every single woman needs to know this.

With my first, labor started with my water breaking. She was born 4 and a half hours later with 20 minutes of pushing. With my second and third babies, it seemed like I was in early labor for weeks that I just ignorned. Active labor was about 2 hours long with both of those babies. With my second, I never pushed once. She came out with FER. And my third came out after 1 to 2 pushes. It was really one long push but I let up just a little at crowning and then went full force.

Just a comment from the first few se ones of the video mentioning the partner. I've had such a laugh over the 4 babies with his different reactions. First baby it was awful cause I was whisked away into c section and he was looking like a deer in headlights. But the second as a vbac was hilarious cause I had to have a spinal catheter so at some point I just said give me the drugs, not gonna waste a needle when I fear them haha, plus the tube without the drugs got a bit uncomfortable with contractions. So I was very chilled in labour and he suddenly panicked and went to leave, I grabbed his arm and sat him next to me (side away from the door) and he couldn't see much of anything until she was out. Number three went nearly same but faster and he hadn't the chance to move away (we didn't get out of the initial room into an actual labour room too so he couldn't get past a midwife if he tried. 😂 and the 4th he thought he was slick, he sat near the door on my right side, a few meters away. What he didn't quite realise was that he had given himself the perfect side view 😂😂😂😂 as the head emerged, he could see it hanging out, I glanced over and saw him peaking through his fingers 🫣 it was so funny to me. But we have that kind of relationship, the midwife actually had a call from her boyfriend and had mentioned how lovely the couple was today 😅 it was like a date for us, no kids, macdonqlds, a walk, chatting with other grown ups, laughing about silky little things and making jokes. I loved it, was really on an oxytocin high ❤

Just watching these for general knowledge but its funny cause I had a bloody show a month before my son came exactly 😂 he was number 4... but I did have corona and coughed for 2 monthsish... I think the coughing plus the step test caused it. I had early labour for that whole month 😂 so annoying getting consistent contractions every night but never going anywhere. But as soon as it was active I knew, baby 4 I could tell the difference 😅 we went in and the midwives were like, well you know, could still be a while... but me and hub knew, went macdonalds, walked around the hospital and went and walked around outside the waiting room. Midwife saw us and said, alright you 2 come back in and we will see how far you've got. She checked me over and then checked me in and I had baby later that day, made us laugh they kept saying I didn't look like I was in labour but they could feel the cervix had shortened and dilated and that contractions were speeding up. Something I think it's important for new mums to know if they want an epidural. It's not supposed to numb you completely... you are supposed to feel touch still... my 2nd and 3rd babies (1st was c section) it completely numbed me, I couldn't move my legs at all, couldn't feel a thing... pushing was awful, it's like running a race i the dark... the last baby I had was on a Sunday so my gyno was at home, the anesthesiologist did the epidural and it was amazing, I felt everything but no pain! The midwife was alone, everything was so calm, she asked if I needed to be told how to push and I said yes cause the other times I couldn't even feel anything... midwives were helping me push and the gyno vacuumed them out... but with number 4, my gyno walked in when the head was out, my midwife was amazing! Hubby was worried about the gyno not making it but I kept telling him, she's fully qualified to do this, it's her job, she does this every day. If I'd have had a girl she'd have her name as the second name. My 3rd child has her midwives name in her second names. 🥰 love midwives ❤
